ATF Financial Solutions App
Creating simple, secure and aesthetic pleasing app

Overview
ATF is a banking solutions app focused on business clients, offering features that range from sharing a receipt to making Pix transactions — an instant payment system created by the Central Bank of Brazil — and issuing payment requests. With a lean team of just three UX designers, one art director, and one head of marketing, we designed all the essential experiences a financial institution needs to provide a complete banking service.

Challenge
This project challenged the team on multiple fronts, balancing a tight delivery roadmap with high-quality standards. We had a three-month window to design the entire end-to-end experience, resulting in over 300 screens. The goal was to meet the benchmark of Brazil’s leading banking applications, ensuring a top-tier user experience.
To ensure scalability and design consistency, we defined clear ownership within the team. Constant communication and alignment syncs were crucial to maintaining a unified design system and standardized user flows. Our collaborative approach was the key to delivering a high-impact product within a demanding timeframe.
Outcome
We delivered a seamless and scalable mobile app, leveraging a modular architecture of UI components based on Material Design. This approach allowed us to mirror the new ATF brand identity, ensuring that every interaction reflects modernity and transparency. The result is a clean, user-centric interface that balances visual aesthetics with operational efficiency.
User experience
The reorganization of visual hierarchy and interaction patterns resulted in more intuitive and engaging flows, especially in traditionally rigid and bureaucratic modules. The experience became more fluid and consistent, reducing friction and increasing user confidence across functionalities and platforms.
Consistency
The implementation of the Design System ensured alignment across screens, modules, and platforms, eliminating any previous visual and behavioral inconsistencies. Reusable components, layout guidelines, and clear interaction principles contributed to a more predictable and coherent experience, strengthening the product’s brand identity.
Design scalability
Beyond delivering MVP screens, we established a solid design foundation and experience guidelines, so new features and modules can now be developed more efficiently and consistently.
Design and Prototyping
Our design process began with a deep competitive analysis of leading digital banking products, identifying industry benchmarks to inform our user flows. We mapped out friction points and opportunities for improvement, ensuring every decision was aligned with our technical feasibility and codebase. This resulted in a gamified, intuitive experience with consistent design patterns that foster user familiarity across all journeys.
To elevate the prototype, we prioritized micro-interactions to create a more immersive and high-fidelity experience for stakeholder presentations. Defining these animations required close cross-functional collaboration with the engineering team, ensuring that every motion was not only fluid and engaging but also technically implementable.
Testing and improvements
To ensure a secure launch, we initiated an internal beta release (dogfooding) with ATF employees to test the product in a real-world environment. This phase was crucial for uncovering usability gaps and identifying both design and technical bugs that only surface during daily active use.
We managed these insights by creating a structured backlog in Jira, documenting each issue with detailed descriptions and assigning priority levels. This approach allowed us to maintain an efficient workflow, focusing on incremental improvements and rapid bug fixes to ensure a polished final experience.
